ALCOF- LS SYRUP

DESCRIPTION

ALCOF-LS is a combination medication primarily used to manage cough associated with respiratory conditions like bronchitis, bronchial asthma, and the common cold, especially when thick mucus is present.

Composition

It typically contains three active ingredients that work together to clear the airways:

1. Levosalbutamol: A bronchodilator that relaxes the muscles in the airways, making it easier to breathe.

2. Ambroxol Hydrochloride: A mucolytic agent that thins and loosens thick mucus (phlegm), making it less sticky.

3. Guaiphenesin: An expectorant that increases the volume of fluid in the airways, helping to “propel” the mucus out through coughing.

• Productive Cough: Helps in expelling thick, tenacious sputum.

• Asthmatic Bronchitis: Relieves wheezing and chest tightness.

• COPD: Assists in managing airway obstruction caused by mucus buildup.

Common Side Effects

While generally well-tolerated, some users may experience:

• Tremors (shakiness), particularly in the hands

• Increased heart rate (palpitations)

• Dizziness or headache

• Dry mouth
