DESCRIPTION

Terbinaforce-Plus NF Cream is a triple-action topical medication commonly used to treat a variety of inflammatory and infectious skin conditions. It is formulated to address fungal and bacterial infections while simultaneously reducing the discomfort of inflammation.

Composition

The “NF” (New Formula) typically contains three active ingredients:

• Clobetasol Propionate (0.05% w/w): A potent corticosteroid (steroid) that reduces swelling, redness, and itching.

• Clotrimazole (1.0% w/w): An antifungal agent that stops the growth of fungi by damaging their protective cell membranes.

• Neomycin Sulphate (0.5% w/w): A broad-spectrum antibiotic that kills the bacteria causing skin infections.

Primary Uses

This cream is used to treat mixed skin infections where both inflammation and microbial growth are present, including:

• Fungal Infections: Ringworm (Tinea corporis), Athlete’s foot (Tinea pedis), and Jock itch (Tinea cruris).

• Bacterial Infections: Primary or secondary skin infections caused by bacteria.

• Inflammatory Conditions: Eczema, Psoriasis, and Dermatitis that have become infected or are at risk of infection.

How to Apply

1. Clean and Dry: Wash the affected area and pat it dry before application.

2. Thin Layer: Apply a thin film of the cream to the affected skin, usually 1–2 times daily or as directed by a healthcare professional.

3. Hand Hygiene: Wash your hands thoroughly before and after applying, unless the hands are the area being treated.

4. Avoid Bandaging: Do not cover the area with airtight dressings or bandages unless specifically instructed by a doctor, as this can increase steroid absorption and the risk of side effects.

Precautions & Side Effects

• Common Side Effects: Burning sensation, irritation, itching, redness, or dryness at the application site.

• Sensitive Areas: Avoid contact with the eyes, mouth, nose, or internal areas.

• Duration: Do not use for longer than the prescribed period. Prolonged use of potent steroids like Clobetasol can lead to skin thinning (atrophy) or stretch marks.

• Pregnancy/Breastfeeding: Consult a doctor before use, as steroids and antibiotics can be absorbed through the skin.
