T-bact Ointment

DESCRIPTION

T-bact Ointment is a topical antibacterial medication used to treat various bacterial skin infections. It contains Mupirocin, which works by stopping the growth of specific bacteria.

Key Uses

• Impetigo: A highly contagious skin infection that causes red sores on the face.

   

• Folliculitis: Inflammation or infection of the hair follicles.

   

• Secondary Infections: Treats infections occurring in small cuts, open wounds, or stitched areas.

• MRSA: Often used to eliminate Staphylococcus aureus (including methicillin-resistant strains) from the skin or nasal passages.

   

How it Works

Mupirocin inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to a specific enzyme (isoleucyl-tRNA synthetase). Without the ability to create these proteins, the bacteria cannot survive or multiply.

Application Instructions

1. Clean the area: Wash and dry the affected skin thoroughly.

    

2. Apply a small amount: Use a cotton swab or clean fingertip to apply a thin layer 2–3 times a day.

    

3. Covering: The treated area may be covered with a sterile bandage if necessary.

    

4. Duration: Complete the full course prescribed by a healthcare professional, even if symptoms improve early, to prevent antibiotic resistance.

    

Precautions

• For External Use Only: Do not use in the eyes, mouth, or deep inside the nose unless specifically directed.

   

• Hypersensitivity: Discontinue use if severe irritation or an allergic reaction (rash, swelling) occurs.

   

• Pregnancy/Nursing: Consult a doctor before use if pregnant or breastfeeding.
