Description
Satrogyl-O Tablet is a combination medicine consisting of satranidazole and ofloxacin. This medicine is used for the treatment of diarrhoea and dysentery caused by a microbial infection in adults. It works by preventing the growth of infection-causing microorganisms. Satrogyl-O Tablet may cause some side effects such as nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, loss of appetite and headache. These side effects generally subside with time. Consult your doctor if any of these effects persist for a long time. Besides taking Satrogyl-O Tablet, drink plenty of water to counteract the dehydration caused by diarrhoea. Satrogyl-O Tablet is not recommended if you are pregnant or breastfeeding unless clearly needed. This medicine is not recommended for use in children less than 18 years of age. Inform your doctor if you have liver or kidney problems before taking Satrogyl-O Tablet.

Diarrhoea by infection

Dysentery
Dysentery is an infection of the intestines in which you pass loose stools containing blood or mucus. It is caused by the amoeba, parasites or bacteria. Satrogyl-O Tablet used to treat dysentery by stopping the growth of infection-causing bacteria and parasites. It also helps in preventing a relapse. This medicine reduces the symptoms like stomach pain, cramps, nausea and vomiting associated with dysentery.
