DESCRIPTION
Glynase MF Tablet is a combination medication used to manage type 2 diabetes mellitus. It contains Glipizide (a sulfonylurea), which helps the pancreas release more insulin, and Metformin (a biguanide), which reduces excess sugar production in the liver and improves insulin sensitivity. Together, they help control blood sugar levels and reduce diabetes-related complications such as nerve damage, kidney problems, and heart disease. This medicine is most effective when combined with a healthy diet and regular exercise.
Glynase MF should be taken exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once or twice daily before meals to prevent low blood sugar (hypoglycemia). Do not skip meals after taking this medicine.
Patients with kidney, liver, or heart problems should use it with caution, as it may increase the risk of lactic acidosis and low blood sugar. Alcohol should be avoided while on this medication, as it can further increase these risks. Regular blood sugar monitoring is essential to ensure safe and effective use.
Glynase MF is not recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding, as Glipizide can cross the placenta and may affect the baby. Pregnant women should discuss alternative medications with their doctor.
