Uses 

Gluconorm G 2mg Forte Tab belongs to a group of medicines known as anti-diabetic drugs and is used to treat people with type 2 diabetes mellitus as it helps lower the blood sugar levels after meals. This medicine helps to control blood sugar levels and thus prevent serious complications of diabetes. However, the uses mentioned here may not be exhaustive. There may be other reasons or situations in which this medicine might be used

Mechanism of Action of Drugs

Gluconorm G 2mg Forte Tab is an anti-diabetic medicine and it inhibits the intestinal enzymes responsible for breaking complex sugars into simple sugars such as glucose, thus preventing blood glucose levels from rising very high immediately after meals.

Contraindications and Caution

Patients with the following conditions are suggested to seek advice from their health care professionals before taking this medicine

• Hypersensitivity or allergy to Gluconorm G 2mg Forte Tab or any of its components
• Allergy to any other drugs
• Kidney disease
• Liver problems
• Ulceration
• Inflammation in the bowel

Side and Adverse Effects

How to Use

This medicine should be taken just before a meal or along with the first mouthful of food. The dose and duration should be followed as prescribed by your doctor. It is best to take this medicine at a fixed time. It is important that this medicine should not be taken more than the recommended dose.
Swallow the tablet whole with water, immediately after opening the tablet from the strip. Do not try to break/crush/chew the tablet.
Avoid missing or forgetting a dose. If you do, take it as soon as you remember; but if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take it at the next scheduled time. Do not take two doses of this medicine at the same time as it can be dangerous to your health.
Bear in mind that it takes a few weeks for the medicine to work so you need to take it regularly even if you feel it is not doing you any good. You must keep taking the medicine until your doctor advises you to stop.
