DESCRIPTION
The Control D Blood Glucose Test Strips are intended for the quantitative measurement of glucose in fresh capillary whole blood. Sold in a 100-count package (typically divided into two vials of 50 strips), these in-vitro diagnostic strips are designed for reliable and fast blood sugar monitoring.
Key Specifications
-
Device Compatibility: Exclusively compatible with Control D Glucometers (Black, White, Orange, and Blue models).
-
Blood Volume Required: 0.5 µL (minimizes discomfort during testing).
-
Testing Time: Displays accurate results in exactly 5 seconds.
-
Calibration Method: Plasma-calibrated to allow easy comparison with standard laboratory testing methods.
-
Technology: Features carbon electrodes and amperometric biosensors for high precision.
-
Coding: “No coding” technology automatically calibrates the meter, reducing the chance of user error.
-
Application: Uses “Fast Draw” capillary action to instantly absorb the blood sample onto the strip.
Operating Principle
When a drop of blood is applied to the edge of the test strip, it is drawn in by capillary action. The glucose in the blood reacts with the chemical reagents on the strip, producing a tiny electrical current. The Control D glucometer reads this micro-current and calculates the corresponding blood glucose concentration.
Storage and Handling Guidelines
-
Storage Environment: Store strips in their original vial at room temperature in a cool, dry place. Do not refrigerate or freeze.
-
Moisture Protection: Always keep the vial tightly capped immediately after removing a strip to prevent moisture degradation.
-
Expiration: Discard any unused test strips 3 months after first opening the vial, or by the printed expiration date—whichever comes first.
-
Usage: For single use only; never reuse a test strip.
