Candid-V Gel

Candid-V Gel is a specialized antifungal medication primarily used to treat vaginal yeast infections (vaginal candidiasis). It contains the active ingredient Clotrimazole, which belongs to the imidazole class of antifungals.

Primary Functions

• Antifungal Action: It works by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol, a critical component of the fungal cell membrane. This creates holes in the membrane, causing the fungus to leak and eventually die.

• Symptom Relief: It effectively reduces localized itching, burning, and abnormal discharge associated with fungal overgrowth.

Usage Instructions

3. External Use: A small amount can also be applied to the surrounding skin (vulva) to relieve external itching.

Key Considerations

• Course Completion: It is important to complete the full course even if symptoms disappear after a day or two to prevent the infection from returning.

• Menstruation: Treatment is generally more effective when not done during a menstrual period.

• Precautions: Avoid using tampons, vaginal douches, or spermicides while using this medication. It may also weaken latex products like condoms or diaphragms, so alternative contraceptive methods are recommended during treatment.
